We bring together health and social care professionals, researchers, and the communities we serve. We aim to ensure future research meets a wide range of health and social care needs.

Our Research Themes

Inclusive involvement in research

Research on health and social care should involve patients, service users, carers and members of the public with different experiences.

Measurement in health and social care

This theme works to measure and understand people’s health and care needs, and evaluate the approaches used to support these.

Mental health over the life course

This theme aims to improve mental health outcomes for those communities especially vulnerable to mental health inequalities in the East of England.

Palliative and end-of-life care

Palliative care enables people with serious illnesses, and their unpaid/family carers, to maintain their quality of life and reduce suffering at any stage of a chronic, progressive, long-term or life-limiting conditio

Prevention and early detection in health and social care

This theme aims to address health inequalities and to work with local communities and health and social care organisations to develop and evaluate prevention and early detection strategies.

Support for ageing and living with long term conditions

This research identifies the best ways to improve how older people and anyone living with multi-morbidity are supported by health and social care and their local communities to stay well and be active members of their communities.
